Brothers-in-law Ben Wright and Robin Hancock formed Wright Brothers in 2002 and have already established the company as London’s leading oyster specialist and its first independent oyster wholesaler for thirty years.

Being independent has allowed the Wright Brothers to select the finest oysters from the most reputable oyster farmers all over the UK and France.  They offer a unique range of twelve different pacific and native oysters, from the pristine Grade A waters off the Western Scottish Isles, to the creeks of Colchester, to the magical clay-bottomed “claires” beds of South West France.

Wright Brothers’ clients include Bibendum, The Wolseley, J Sheekey, Scotts, Selfridges, Racine, Club Gascon, Fortnum & Mason, and the D&D London Group to name but a few.

The wholesale operation re-located at the end of 2005 to Borough Market. Located on Stoney Street, as well as being the hub for Wright Brothers wholesale shellfish distribution, this site also becomes part of this bustling food market where members of the public can experience the freshest and finest oysters in the capital.

In 2005, Wright Brother acquired the lease of the Duchy of Cornwall Oyster farm situated on the Helford River. Formerly one of the leading oyster farms in the UK, the Wright Brothers are busy rebuilding the production and reputation of the oysterage to its glory years.

Wright Brothers have also opened their Oyster & Porter House at Borough Market, showcasing their products from the wholesale company and the Duchy of Cornwall Oyster Farm. The restaurant specializes in oysters, shellfish and crustacea but also has house specials such as Oyster rarebit, beef, Guinness and oyster pie and traditional fish pie as well as featuring a fish of the day such as line caught sea bass.
